Friday night brings us a local derby clash in the Icelandic top flight as KR Reykjavik take on local rivals, Vikingur Reykjavik, when the two teams face off at KR-völlur with not only bragging rights at stake but also a valuable three points up for grabs in this Urvalsdeild tussle.
KR Reykjavik currently occupy the last place in the top six pack sitting in 6th spot bu8t recent results have seemingly eluded the hosts.

They have been held to draws by IA and Stjarnan in 3-3 and 1-1 stalemates respectively along with a heavy 4-0 thrashing away from home at the hands of Breidablik last time out.
It will therefore be interesting to see how KR respond to that recent battering here this Friday night.
But the hosts are expected to face another tough assignment in the shape of Vikingur Reykjavik, despite holding home advantage.
The bigger picture shows KR have managed to win just three out of their last 10 matches overall, while also picking up just one win in their last six home games too.
Vikingur Reykjavik sit in 3rd place in the Urvalsdeild standings and although they find themselves 11 points adrift of the league leaders, Breidablik, the visitors look to be on course to achieve a top six finish and contest a possible European spot as well.
Vikingur will be in confident mood ahead of Friday’s local derby as the away side have racked up three league wins on the trot, recording victories against Valur, KA and IBV respectively, while the bigger picture shows Vikingur have suffered just three defeats out of their last 17 matches.
Two of these losses were actually incurred on home soil at their Víkingsvöllur ground, while also picking up a total of 12 wins in the process overall and winning five of their last seven outings on the road in the Urvalsdeild as well.
Having lost just three of their last 16 away games, Vikingur look in very good shape to take the spoils in this encounter to remain on course for a top six finish.
Vikingur Reykjavik have won each of the previous three meetings on the trot against KR and the visitors look in good shape to extend their dominance here this Friday as well.
