Following Asante Kotoko’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak, James Kwesi Appiah, a key figure in the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), has emphasized the importance of discipline and commitment for the team’s success in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Appiah, who doubles as the head coach of Sudan’s national team, acknowledged the challenges of building a new team but stressed the need for patience. He expressed his desire for Kotoko to win the league, but stated that it ultimately depends on the team’s discipline and commitment.
“The most important thing is to try and win the league, as Otumfour said. If he wins the league it’s a bonus but if he doesn’t, we have to exercise patience and give him some time,” Appiah told Ghanasportspage.com.
He further highlighted the progress made by head coach Dr. Prosper Ogum, noting the time required for a newly assembled team to gel and perform as a unit. Appiah expressed confidence in Ogum’s ability to lead the Porcupine Warriors to success, provided they maintain their current level of discipline and dedication.
Asante Kotoko will face Accra Great Olympics in their next league game, where they will have the opportunity to further solidify their position in the league table and continue their quest for championship glory.
