Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club is yet to receive the transfer fee from Albert Amoah’s switch to Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi, despite the deal being completed over a month ago.

Amoah’s transfer was reportedly worth more than $200,000, with the striker also receiving a $200,000 signing-on bonus and a monthly salary of $20,000 in his first season, set to rise to $25,000 in the next campaign.

Speaking on the delay, Duku said the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, is in regular contact with Al Ahly Benghazi officials to ensure the agreed fee is paid.

“I wouldn’t want to go deeply, but all I can say is that Kotoko has a transfer agreement with Al Ahly Benghazi regarding Albert Amoah,” he noted. “Even though the transfer amount has not yet hit Kotoko’s accounts, the IMC chairman is in constant touch with their officials. The amount will be in.”

Duku added that contractual rules between the clubs mean there is no cause for concern.
