Kotoko miss out on this long-term target as ex-Udinese captain decides to join Accra-based giants —

Kotoko have been dealt a major transfer blow as ex-Udinese captain Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has opted to join Great Olympics.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title-holders, who are close to securing a deal with Sulley Muntari, were confident of luring the 31-year-old back to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for their continental and domestic campaign this season.

A source close to the midfielder who was capped 78 times by Ghana at the senior level has revealed that he has already signed for the Wonder Club.

Badu played for Kotoko on loan in the 2008/09 season from Berekum Arsenal before heading out to join Udinese via a loan spell with Spanish side Recreativo.

He joins a list of ex-Ghana internationals who have returned to the Ghana Premier League after ending their careers abroad.

Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, Gladson Awako, and other high-profile stars have all returned to the Ghanaian top-flight league.
