Chairman of the powerful Asante Kotoko Executive Club 50 Paul Asamoah fears the exit of Dr  Kofi Kodua Sarpong will derail their ambitions next season.
The astute businessman threw in the towel last Friday after being accused by some fans of financial embezzlement.
Some have made a number of sweeping statements against his person which has forced him to prematurely end his thre-year service to the club.
Paul Asamoah, who chairs the powerful supporters group, is unhappy with the turn of event and feels Dr Sarpong’s exit will draw the team back.
“It’s unfortunate because if you look at the direction that this man was taken Kotoko, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that his exit is a massive blow,†Asamoah said
“I am privy to a number of deals that the man has brokered for this club and so it’s a big shame.
“I feel so sad that when good things come to Kotoko, some of our people turn around to destroy it.
“People make wild allegations without providing any proof. Look,  it’s sad day for me as a Kotoko man.
“We have seen many, many chairmen but I am telling you KK is a kind. I will just plead with him to reconsider his decision.
“Look at the Adako Jachie project. It has been there for years, but none of our previous chairmen made any serious effort at improving the facility.
“A man wins two league titles in three years and you say he is not good enough so he should go? “I’m afraid this team will suffer the consequences.â€
The 59-year-old  has helped to re-brand Kotoko by securing multiple sponsorship deals locally and the famous partnership agreement with English side Sunderland.
He has begun work on the Kotoko Adako Jachie Project which involves a befitting training ground and office complex.
The former Tema Oil Refinery boss has made attempts to revive the club’s academy.
Dr Sarpong won two back-to-back Ghana Premier League titles.
