Asante Kotoko defender Musah Hamzata is reportedly close to sealing a move to a Swedish club, a transfer that could see the young centre-back take his first step into European football.
Hamzata joined the Porcupine Warriors during the summer transfer window on a three-year contract, which was expected to keep him at the club until 2028.
Despite arriving with a wealth of domestic experience, having played over 50 matches in the Ghana Premier League, the 22-year-old’s time in Kumasi appears to be coming to an early end.
Reports from Kessben FM suggest that the deal is at an advanced stage, with the Swedish side keen to finalise the transfer before the European winter window.
Hamzata made an instant mark in pre-season, scoring the decisive goal in Kotoko’s Champion of Champions victory over Bibiani GoldStars in August 2025.
However, he has struggled for consistent playing time since the season began, featuring just twice, once in the Ghana Premier League and once in the CAF Champions League.
The potential move to Sweden represents a major opportunity for the defender to further his career and gain international exposure as he looks to establish himself on the European stage.
