Asante Kotoko have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Joseph Amoah will be sidelined for several weeks after sustaining an injury over the weekend.
The versatile left-back, who played the full 90 minutes in Kotoko’s goalless draw with Heart of Lions on Sunday, picked up a knock and is set to miss upcoming matches as he recovers.
Amoah’s absence means he will sit out Wednesday’s league fixture against Bibiani Gold Stars, as head coach Abdul Karim Zito looks to reshuffle his defensive setup.
The 22-year-old has been a standout performer for the Porcupine Warriors this season, impressing with his energy and defensive discipline on the flanks.
His injury comes at a time when Kotoko are aiming to climb up the table after a mixed start to the campaign.
Kotoko currently sit 11th in the Ghana Premier League standings with four points from four matches, but still have two outstanding games to play.
