Asante Kotoko head coach Kazim Zito has described his team’s recent defeat to Vision FC as a much-needed wake-up call ahead of their MTN FA Cup final.
The Porcupines were stunned on the final day of the Ghana Premier League, ending the season in fourth place while Bibiani Gold Stars clinched the title.
Despite the disappointment, Zito believes the loss could serve as motivation for his players to respond positively in their final fixture of the campaign.
“Vision FC played good and they deserve to win but the positive side of this game is; it is a wake up call to the finals [MTN FA Cup],” Zito said.
I saw it [defeat] coming before the Medeama game. I am not too much worried because it [the defeat] will help me rearrange my boys well for the final.
Kotoko will face Golden Kick in the FA Cup final on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium. A win would secure silverware and bring a positive end to an otherwise underwhelming season.
Zito has called for focus and commitment from his squad in the days leading up to the showdown.
