The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt E.S. Okraku, has paid glowing tribute to Asante Kotoko as the Kumasi giants celebrate their 90th anniversary today, August 31.
Founded in 1935, the Porcupine Warriors remain one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs, boasting two African titles, a record haul of Ghana Premier League trophies, and several FA Cup triumphs.
In a statement on behalf of the football fraternity, Okraku praised Kotoko’s resilience and immense contribution to the local game.
“As you celebrate this milestone, we salute your tradition, resilience, and immense contribution to the development of football in Ghana. May the years ahead bring even greater glory to the club, its players, technical team, management, supporters, and the entire Kotoko family. Long live Asante Kotoko! Long live Ghana Football,” he said.
Kotoko, winners of last season’s FA Cup, will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup, continuing a tradition of flying the national flag across the continent.
