Kojo Yankah, the former Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA), has expressed concerns about the current state of Ghanaian football under the leadership of Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Yankah believes that Okraku is facing challenges and is unlikely to secure victory in the upcoming GFA presidential election.
In a recent interview with Connect, Yankah remarked, ‘There seems to be a certain spiritual undercurrent at play. This election doesn’t seem to align with Kurt Okraku’s destiny. He appears to be aware of this and is making discreet alterations behind the scenes.’
Earlier this year, Kojo Yankah had hinted at his intention to run for the GFA Presidency. However, he chose not to submit his nomination for the election this month.
The imminent GFA presidential election is now shaping up to be a competitive showdown between Kurt Okraku and George Afriyie, the former Vice President of the FA.
The Elective Congress for the GFA is scheduled for September 27th in the vibrant city of Tamale, where the fate of the football association’s leadership will be decided.
