Ghana midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh scored his maiden Bundesliga goal for SC Freiburg in their 2-1 home victory over FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday.
Michael Gregoritsch gave Freiburg an early lead at the Europa Park Stadion with his fourth league goal of the season before Kofi Kyereh’s simple finish on the rebound doubled their advantage in the 37th minute.
The visitors pulled one back after the recess, but the home team held on to keep the pace at the top of the table.
The win moved Freiburg level on 17 points with league leaders Union Berlin after extending their unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions.
