Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has assured the public that all expenditures for the Black Stars at the 2026 World Cup will be fully disclosed.
The national team is set to compete in its fifth World Cup, hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer.
Adams, who previously made the costs of qualifying matches public, confirmed that financial transparency will also extend to preparations for the tournament.
“We will make the World Cup budget public; nothing will be hidden,” the Buem MP told Asempa FM.
He emphasized that the government’s goal is not profit, but ensuring the team and fans are properly supported.
The minister also noted that contributions from the Sports Fund will influence how many supporters can travel to cheer the team abroad.
“The funds we will raise will determine the number of fans we take to the World Cup.”
Ghana will begin its Group L campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England in Boston.
The group stage concludes with a clash against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
