Klopp amazed by Liverpool’s unbeaten run

Liverpool manager has expressed his delight in his team’s unbeaten run by describing the streak as ‘insane’.

The Reds beat close town rivals Everton 2-0 on Sunday to extend this run to 14 unbeaten games in the Premier League to reduce the gap between them and Man City to one point.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, the German said: “The amount of wins we’ve had in recent months is insane. You have to work. The boys did that again. I’m really happy.”

In the game against Everton, Klopp added: “Thank God the game has two halves. We didn’t play particularly well in the first half. They made it uncomfortable but we didn’t get in behind the last line. We didn’t have enough movement.

“We weren’t quick enough. We passed the ball into the area they had nine players. Second half we were much more direct and caused them much more problems.
Liverpool are still in contention for four trophies with a Champions League semi-final and FA Cup final to come.

It is now 13 wins in 15 league games for the Reds since their loss at Leicester just after Christmas with the impressive run including beating Pep Guardiola’s City in an FA Cup semi-final and Benfica over two legs in the Champions League last eight.
