King Mohammed VI has sent a heartfelt message to Morocco’s under-20 national team, congratulating them on their historic FIFA U-20 World Cup victory in Chile.

The Monarch said he followed “with immense joy and deep pride” the team’s journey, which culminated in a “well-deserved triumph” Morocco’s first-ever world title at this level.

He praised the young “Atlas Cubs” for their unity, confidence, and professionalism, describing their success as a reflection of Morocco’s growing football stature and the remarkable promise of its youth.

“We commend this sporting feat, the result of your high self-confidence, your unwavering belief in your potential and talent, and the spirit of unity and harmony you have demonstrated,” the King said.

King Mohammed VI also extended his appreciation to the coaches, technical staff, and administrators for representing Morocco and Africa with pride and honour, noting that their victory had brought “immense joy to the Moroccan people.”

He encouraged the players to stay focused and disciplined, expressing optimism that this triumph marks the beginning of even greater achievements for Moroccan football.

Morocco defeated six-time champions Argentina 2-0 in the final to claim their maiden world title.
