Despite securing a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a penalty shootout win over Aduana Stars, King Faisal assistant coach Godwin Ablordey has stressed that avoiding relegation remains the team’s main objective.
The Insha Allah boys are currently 11th in the Premier League standings, with 32 points and just four points clear of the drop zone.
Ablordey believes that staying in the league is crucial and that the team must focus on the league to achieve this goal.
While he acknowledges the team’s progress in the FA Cup, he maintains that the league is their top priority.
King Faisal is set to return to league action on April 16 when they host Dreams FC.
“I’m not thinking about FA Cup. I’m thinking about the league because we have to stay in the league. FA Cup when you are out you can still play so we are just concentrating on the league so that we make sure we stay in the league. So this is our focus now. FA Cup, we are going to the semi-finals but it’s down. We are thinking of the league now,” he told StarTimes.
