Following King Faisal’s victory over Aduana Stars in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, King Faisal No. 2, Godwin Ablordey, praised the team’s goalkeeper, Abdul Jabal Adams, for his exceptional performance during the penalty shootout.
After a 2-2 draw in normal time, the match went to extra time before it was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout, which King Faisal won 3-1. Adams saved two of Aduana FC’s penalties, helping his team to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Ablordey expressed his confidence in the goalkeeper, stating that the team had faith in him to deliver in such crucial moments.
He went on to describe Adams as their “trump card” and credited him with helping King Faisal advance to the next stage of the tournament.
“We have faith in our goalkeeper, that come what may the penalties he was going to take us through. He was our trump card. We were playing to score but if we don’t score we know we have a card that is going to do the game for us. That’s what happened. You saw him saving the penalties for us”
