Ghana have received a major injury boost as midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng returned from injury to score the opening for Schalke 04 in their 3-3 draw at TSG Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old raced the Royal Blues into the lead as early as the third minute with an spectacular strike to register his third goal in five games for Schalke.

Hoger sent Farfan with a heel kick on the right wing and the Peruvian return the pass to Meyer, whose inclined effort found Boateng on the right.

The former AC Milan enforcer arrived in time to rifle a powerful shot to the top right angle of the net.

Schalke went ahead to take a 3-1 lead before the break but the host fought back to equalise both goals.

Boateng attracted a booking in the 79th minute after a bad challenge on a Hoffenheim player.

Boateng’s scoring has boosted Ghana’s preparation ahead of their crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier with Egypt next month.
