Ghanaian striker Kelvin Boateng is reportedly close to securing a move to FK Austria Vienna following a solid campaign with First Vienna FC.
The 25-year-old is set to join the Austrian Bundesliga side on a free transfer when his contract with the second-tier club expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Boateng has been in fine form this term, netting 12 goals and providing one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions, making him one of the standout players in the division.
Despite a recent spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury, his overall performance has drawn interest from Austria Vienna, who are one of the most prestigious clubs in Austrian football.
The move represents a return to top-flight football for Boateng, who previously featured for FC Porto B and had spells in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
With his pace, sharp positioning, and clinical finishing, Boateng is expected to add firepower to Austria Vienna’s frontline as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
The transfer could also boost his profile internationally, potentially putting him on the radar of Ghana’s senior national team selectors.
