Real Marid goalkeeper Keeper Thibaut Courtois has mocked FC Barcelona following their Laliga win on Saturday evening.
The Belgian reminded their arch-rivals of their celebration at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu after their Clasico win.
“After the Clasico was the key. Some people celebrated as if they had won the title, that they were back. But we kept calm to beat Celta and in a difficult game and Getafe, which is always difficult for us,” the keeper said after the game.
Courtois and Benzema have been praised as key members of the title-winning side but the keeper played down the praises insisting that it was an entire team effort.
“This is the work of the whole team. We all attack and defend. The game against Sevilla was the key, coming back from 2-0 down when everyone thought we were dead and that killed our opponents a bit,” he added.
Attention for Real Madrid now shifts to the Champions League where they are set to play Manchester City in the second leg of the semifinals with the aggregate winner making it to the final.
City leads the first leg 4-3 and the Laliga Champions will need to be at their best if they are ti topple the Pep Guardiola side.
