Dreams FC head coach Karim Zito has expressed his satisfaction with his team’s 0-0 draw against defending champions Samartex FC in the opening match of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League.
Despite being reduced to ten men after Collins Boah’s red card, Dreams FC held on for a valuable point at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
In a post-match interview, Zito said, “We have to give Samartex the respect. Playing a draw with them is a good result.”
In the 82nd minute, a corner kick led to a scoring opportunity for Samartex’s Baba Hamadu Musah, but the referee controversially ruled out the goal.
Both teams settled for a point apiece after match day one of the Ghana Premier League 2024/2025 campaign.
Dreams FC will look to build on this positive start when they face Basake Holy Stars in their next match, while Samartex FC will take on Bibiani Gold Stars.
