Head coach of Dreams FC, Abdul Karim Zito, has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to deploy soldiers at Premier League venues to ensure safety and security when the league resumes.
Zito’s call comes after the tragic death of a devoted fan, Naa Pooley, who was stabbed after a match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC in Nsoatre.
The GFA has been working with stakeholders to address hooliganism and ensure safety at league venues.
With the league set to resume, the GFA has announced that Matchday 23 will kick off on March 7, pending safety and security inspections at all venues.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Zito said “I think the Police are doing very well, but if they will add a few soldiers at match venues, it will be better,” he concluded.
