Karela United pulled off a dramatic 1-0 victory over Dreams FC in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 22 clash at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday.
Just as the game looked destined for a draw, Ali Alhassan struck in stoppage time, tapping home from close range following a brilliant run and cross from Eric Antwi. The late winner ended Dreams’ five-match unbeaten home run and handed Karela maximum points.
The first half was cagey, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. Dreams looked composed at times, while Karela probed patiently without breaking through.
After the interval, Karela grew in confidence, with Antwi causing repeated problems down the flank and forcing Dreams onto the back foot. His persistence ultimately led to the decisive assist in stoppage time, giving Karela consecutive league victories for the first time in weeks.
The defeat leaves Dreams FC winless in four straight league games, dropping from 11th to 14th in the table with 26 points, flirting with the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Karela climb to seventh, carrying momentum into their next clash against bottom-placed Eleven Wonders.
Dreams will look to regroup quickly as they travel to face Nations FC, aiming to halt their slump and stabilize their season.
