Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana says he had no doubts about joining Italian side Atalanta, calling it the right step in his career.
The 23-year-old signed a four-year deal with the 2024 UEFA Europa League champions after leaving English side Southampton this summer.
Speaking during his official unveiling on Thursday, Kamaldeen expressed excitement about playing in Italy and reuniting with coach Ivan Jurić.
“When Atalanta called, I had no doubts. Their recent success speaks for itself. I’m very happy to be here,” he told reporters.
“I’m excited for the chance to play Champions League football and work under Mr. Jurić again. I admire his mentality. I’m young and eager to grow.”
Kamaldeen made 74 appearances during his time at Southampton and previously featured for French side Stade Rennais. His move to Bergamo marks a fresh challenge in one of Europe’s top leagues.
