Juventus declared on Instagram that Stephen Appiah’s goal for the club against Sampdoria is the goal of the day.
The club posted the video with the message: “@ stephenappiahofficial’s surge and super strike ? Samp!”,
The former Black Stars captain after scoring the goal which was a powerful low shot removed his jersey and celebrated with Del Piero and others.
Juventus paid Parma €2 million in the summer of 2003 to secure Appiah’s services on loan, with an option to a permanent €6 million transfer in 2004.
He went on to have a successful debut season at Juventus, appearing in 30 Serie A games and reaching the Coppa Italia final. He also made his UEFA Champions League debut.
Appiah appeared in 18 Serie A games during his second season at Juventus.
