After tasting defeat for the first time following an unbeaten start to life in Serie A’s 2022/23 season, Juventus will play hosts to Salernitana at the Juventus Stadium just four days after the loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Juventus did look better in the second half against PSG on Tuesday night, but there is still a lot of work to do for them this season.

They still look defensively weak and the lack of goalscorers across the peak is proving to be an alarming part of their game with Dusan Vlahovic the only real positive to take from the start to the 2022/23 season.

What’s more, the Turin side did bring one back in the second half as Weston McKennie scored from a corner. Nevertheless, two first half goals mean the first defeat of the season for Max Allegri, as the dark clouds continue to roam over his head.

Last season was not acceptable for Juventus, and despite the unbeaten start to the new season, the club have still managed to win only two games this season.

Last time out, the serial winners of Serie A drew with Vlahovic’s old side, Fiorentina, which now means three draws from the five games and a position of seventh in the table.

A 3-0 win over Sassuolo on the opening day where Angel Di Maria scored a debut goal, and a 2-0 win over Spezia where Vlahovic scored before Arkadiusz Milik bagged another is all the club have to boast about early on.

Salernitana are coming off the back of two draws on the spin since defeating Sampdoria in a famous 4-0 demolition back in the middle of August.

A 1-1 draw with Bologna followed that victory, before the club drew 2-2 with Empoli. It does, however, still keep the club up in 10th this season, which should be commended for given how they survived by only a point last time out.

That 4-0 win is still Salernitana’s only victory of the season, as they have also drawn with Udinese and lost to Roma. A further loss to Parma in the Coppa Italia means just one win in six games.

Forebet predicts a draw here for the Turin outfit once again. Salernitana have proven to be a bit of a force this season and the midweek loss combined with another draw for Juventus last season doesn’t bode well heading into this one. Forebet also predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals.
