In a promising development for FC Koln and its supporters, German-born Ghanaian talent Justin Diehl is on the verge of returning to team training.
According to a report from GEISSBLOG, Diehl was spotted running laps on Friday, marking a significant milestone in his recovery from a thigh muscle injury sustained during the derby against Leverkusen on March 3.
The 19-year-old’s return to the pitch is imminent, with reports in Germany suggesting that he could rejoin team training as early as next week. However, it remains uncertain whether Diehl will be match-fit for the upcoming away game against FC Bayern on April 13.
Diehl, who signed his first professional contract with FC Köln until 2023 on August 7, 2020, made his professional debut for the club on January 21, 2023.
He has represented Germany at various youth levels, including the U19s, and has featured in six German Bundesliga games this season.
Diehl’s return is undoubtedly a boost for FC Koln, as they look to capitalize on his youthful energy and talent in the remaining games of the season.
