Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing a knee surgical procedure.
Blay picked up the knee injury at training ahead of Kotoko’s Super Clash against Hearts of Oak on matchday 24 of the Ghana Premier League.
The 30-year-old who joined the club on a two-year deal before the start of the second round of the season after the expiration of his contract at Medeama is expected to be sidelined for two-three months.

He has joined Isaac Oppong and young goalkeeper Abdul Rafiu Yakubu in Asante Kotoko’s treatment room.
Meanwhile, Blay has reportedly charged his coach Prosper Nartey Ogum to win the league title for him since he has no league winners medal.
Kotoko are currently leading the Ghana Premier League table with 52 points after 25 matches with some 9 matches to end the season.
The reds have an eight point lead over second place Bechem United but Blay who underwent a knee surgery last Wednesday has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
“Please win the league for me. It is a trophy I have never won” Blay told Prosper Narteh Ogum according to the coach’s personal assistant Asante Forkuo.
He has since made 7 appearances in the Red shirt in the Ghanaian league.
