Juninho hasn’t forgiven Aulas and criticizes Garcia’s ‘mentality’

On the waves of RMCJuninho, the former sporting director of OL, returned to his departure from the French club in December 2021. The Brazilian instructed the president, Jean-Michel Aulas, and the former coach of the team, Rudi Garcia , now stationed in Saudi Arabia, in Al-Nassr.

Juninho, OL

Juninho first claimed not to have refused the coaching post to Laurent Blanc alone against all the other OL decision-makers, in 2019, before Rudi Garcia signed with the club, as Jean-Michel Aulas claimed during the presentation to the press of the current coach of Les Gones, last October: “Jean-Michel Aulas, he knows that it is not who refused Laurent Blanc alone. I think Jean-Michel Aulas was afraid to assume but that doesn’t bother me anymore. We know him, he speaks and that’s how it is. I turn the page.”

The Brazilian confided that his relationship with the OL president was broken: “I was disappointed with many, many things and maybe him too. When I turn the page, it’s completely. But forgiving is a very complicated thing for me when you go too far. Of course it wasn’t me who decided on my own. But if it was me, I would assume everything.”

Juninho tackles Garcia

According to Juninho, former OL coach Rudi Garcia tried to turn part of the OL locker room against another, those of the Brazilians: “We started, for example, to create a changing room atmosphere. Of course there were only Brazilians coming because they are competitors and they like to win. After Rudi (Garcia) started saying ‘Yes, you protect the Brazilians’. This is false. He spoke with Maxence Caqueret saying that I wanted Jean Lucas to play in his place. Look at the mentality of this coach. Look at this. This is where Jean-Michel Aulas misses (misses himself, editor’s note) because I told him that it happened like that and that we had to be careful.

The former midfielder concluded by saying he didn’t know if he could ever forgive the OL president: “I don’t know if I’m saying the word sorry. But I think he had really gone far. He knows he had gone really far. I don’t know… But we let the days go by. He knows he had gone really far. And that doesn’t happen.”
