Black Queens forward Josephine Bonsu has described her debut experience on home soil as “unforgettable” after featuring in Ghana’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Egypt in the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, October 28.
With Ghana now securing qualification for the 2026 WAFCON, Bonsu is determined to help the team build on their recent success and push for the title in Morocco next year.
The upcoming WAFCON will also double as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, offering Bonsu and her teammates another opportunity to make history for Ghanaian women’s football.
“The girls told me before what it’s going to be like, but I didn’t expect it to be like this,” Bonsu told 3Sports. “The fans brought a very, very big energy and I was just very proud to be there.”
