Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil has been recognized for his outstanding performance in the MLS, earning a spot in the Team of the Week for matchday 22.
Paintsil scored a brace in Los Angeles Galaxy’s 3-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps, ending his five-week goal drought.
He converted a penalty in the 60th minute and added a second goal 13 minutes from time with a beautifully curled shot.
Paintsil’s impressive form has seen him net three goals and provide an assist in 15 matches this season.
He joins an elite group of players in the Team of the Week, including Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi and Sporting Kansas City’s John Pulskamp.
Other players in the team include Carlos Harvey (Minnesota), Ethan Bartlow (Houston Dynamo), and Mitja Ilenic (New York City FC).
