Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have suspended Joseph Amoako for gross misconduct on social media.
The club finds his activity “unacceptable” and and the indefinite suspension takes immediate effect pending final determination by its disciplinary committee.
The club’s official statement reads “Joseph Amoako, 20, has been suspended indefinitely pending a final determination through the club’s disciplinary procedures.”
“This is due to his misconduct on social media which the club finds unacceptable.”
Amoako was a former player of Helsingborgs IF, where his contract was cancelled due to the rape allegations.
The Helsingborgs District Court initially found the budding talented winger guilty on two counts and handed him a 24-month jail term but the player has been released after an appeal.
He was the third Ghanaian footballer to be jailed in Sweden over rape allegations after Kingsley Sarfo and Kwame Bonsu.
