Joseph Aidoo to leave Black Stars camp for treatment in Spain following ankle injury

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made an official announcement regarding the unfortunate injury to Black Stars defender Joseph Aidoo. The injury was sustained during Ghana’s friendly match with Mexico on Saturday night and has ruled him out of the upcoming international friendly against the United States of America.

Team doctors conducted further tests, confirming that Aidoo has sustained an ankle tendons injury that requires immediate medical attention to facilitate his return to action. Consequently, the player is scheduled to depart from the national team’s camp to seek treatment at his club in Spain.

The Ghana FA released a communique on Monday, October 16, stating, “Further tests by team Doctors have confirmed that Aidoo sustained an ankle tendons injury and would require immediate treatment to return to action. The player is due to fly back to his club in Spain for further treatment.”

While Joseph Aidoo recovers, the Black Stars continue their preparations for the friendly match against the United States. The team will conduct a final training session ahead of the game, which is set to take place at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
