Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo faces a length layoff after picking up an injury against Mexico during the international break.
The injury forced him to be substituted in the first half of the match, and after an evaluation by his club’s medical team, it has been determined that he will be sidelined for up to seven months.
RC Celta’s medical services announced that Aidoo underwent a successful operation to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The surgery involved reconstructing the tendon with reinforced sutures and the application of growth factors.
As a result, Aidoo is expected to be out of action for a minimum of 6-7 months.
This unfortunate setback implies that Aidoo will not be available to represent Ghana at the 2023 AFCON.
