Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has extended his support to the Black Queens ahead of their crucial semi-final showdown against host nation Morocco at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The national women’s team is set to face the North Africans on Tuesday, July 22, as they chase a place in the final for the first time since 2006.
Ghana advanced to the last four after a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout win over Algeria in the quarter-finals, following a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.
In a heartfelt message, Jordan Ayew praised the Queens for their spirit and called on them to continue flying the flag high.
“To my sisters, the Black Queens! I’m beyond proud of the way you’ve represented Ghana on the biggest stage. Your determination, skill, and teamwork are an inspiration to us all.
“As you prepare to take on Morocco in the semifinals, I want you to know that the entire Ghanaian football family is behind you.
“We’re rooting for you, and we believe in your ability to make history. Go out there, give it your all and make Ghana proud! Let’s do this, Queens!”
