Jordan Ayew reveals Andre’s Marseille impact

Jordan Ayew has revealed his senior brother Andre  played an influential role in his  decision to stay with Marseille.

The 20-year-old wanted to quit Marseille over lack of first team opportunities during the summer.

But he was persuaded to stay on by manager Elie Baup.

Ayew has revealed his senior brother played a cardinal role in his decision to stick with the Stade Velordrome club.

“I was frank. Everyone knew the situation, the coach and the chairman,” Ayew said

“The team was playing well. It was logical there was no position for me in the starting X1. The officials wanted me to stay and asked me to be patient.

“I am very happy to be at Olympique Marseille. I try to make effort to channel my passion.

“The peole around me and my family help me a lot, Andre among others.

“Fortunately for me he’s here for me. Without him, I could have done some silly things that would have cost me dearly. I am a very tough person.”

The third son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has netted seven times for Marseille this season.
