Ghana captain Jordan Ayew played a key creative role despite Leicester City suffering a 2-1 defeat to Watford in a keenly contested Championship fixture at the King Power Stadium on Friday night.
The Foxes made a bright start and took the lead early on, with Jordan James finding the net in the seventh minute after being teed up by Ayew.
Leicester looked in control during the opening exchanges but were unable to build on their advantage.
Watford gradually grew into the game and found an equaliser just before the break through Othmane Maamma.
The visitors completed the turnaround in the second half when Matthew Pollock struck in the 65th minute to seal all three points.
Ayew, who played the full 90 minutes, remained one of Leicester’s most influential players going forward despite the setback.
The 34-year-old has now featured 21 times this season, contributing four goals and two assists.
Fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also completed the match for Leicester but could not help prevent the defeat.
The result leaves Leicester slipping into the bottom half of the table, while Watford edge closer to the playoff positions.
