Ghana’s striker, Jordan Ayew is determined to play his part in helping the Black Stars secure qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The four-time African champions are set to host the Central African Republic (CAR) in their crucial final Group E match at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 7.
Ghana, currently leading their group, require either a draw or a win to secure their place in the tournament scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.
Jordan Ayew, who has been included in Chris Hughton’s 25-man squad for the game, emphasized the primary objective is to secure qualification.
In an interview with Accra-based Radio Gold, he stated, “The most important thing is that we should qualify, and after we see…the most important thing is [the] qualification.”
The Crystal Palace forward further added, “We are not yet qualified; the most important thing is for us to qualify, and when the time comes, we see.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars are set to commence their camp in Accra today in preparation for the crucial match scheduled for Thursday.
