Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah made his debut for the San Jose Earthquakes in their defeat to Atlanta United on Sunday.
The former U-20 World Cup winner played the entirety of the match but was unable to prevent the defeat as the California-based side lost 2-1 to the visitors at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Mensah joined moved from Columbus Crew where he spent six years, making 159 appearances, scoring seven goals and three assists.
He also made 16 appearances in other competitions, including MLS Cup Playoffs and Concacaf Champions League, recording two goals and one assist.
