Ghanaian defender Jonas Adjetey has joined VfL Wolfsburg, completing his move from Swiss side FC Basel.
The 22-year-old centre-back has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Bundesliga club, keeping him at the Volkswagen Arena until 2030.
Adjetey expressed his excitement about joining Wolfsburg, citing the club’s potential for growth and success.
“I chose this club because I know it’s a good step for me in my professional career,” he said. “It means a lot to me to be in the Bundesliga now and to take this step with VfL Wolfsburg. I’m looking forward to getting started right away and will invest everything every day so that together we can get the results we need”.
Wolfsburg sporting director Pirmin Schwegler praised Adjetey’s physical presence and defensive qualities, stating that he brings exactly what the team needs.
The transfer fee is reportedly around €10 million.
