Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye has expressed his delight at joining French Ligue 1 newcomers AS Saint-Etienne stating “is a source of pride”.
The 23-year-old penned down a four year contract until with Green and White lads until 2028 with an option for extension.
Speaking to the club’s media, Boakye said: “joining AS Saint-Étienne to discover the French championship is a source of pride.”
“Ligue 1 is a championship that I have always followed and ASSE is an emblematic club. I was able to talk with my friend, Lucas Gourna, who taught me a lot of good things about it! I can’t wait to discover this great club from the inside and meet its many supporters.”
Boakye is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the Saint-Etienne squad when the French Ligue 1 season commences.
