Former Ghana defender, John Paintsil is confident that the Black Stars will do well at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking in an interview, the retired footballer who is now into coaching noted that he is hopeful the Black Stars will be able to face any team and perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
John Paintsil believes that ahead of the Qatar tournament, there is quality in the current crop of players available for selection for the Black Stars and that should give Ghanaians hope.
“The quality individual players we have, a coach who is going to blend them, and what the players [did] during the qualification against Nigeria give us hope,” John Paintsil told BBC Sport Africa in an interview.
At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana will be one of five African countries to feature against the rest of the qualified national teams across the globe.
The Black Stars are in Group H and will face off with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
Before the start of the tournament, Ghana will play a friendly match against Switzerland on November 17.
