Joe Nana Adarkwa takes over as Black Maidens head coach

The Executive Council has appointed Joe Nana Adarkwa as coach of the female U-17 national team, Black Maidens. The Ampem Darkoa Ladies coach, who is currently working as assistant coach of the Black Princesses, will take over from Baba Nuhu.

Joe Nana Adarkwa led Ampem Darkoa Ladies to two Women’s Premier League titles in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

He also won the Women’s FA Cup with Ampem Darkoa Ladies two seasons ago and led them to win Gold at the WAFU Women’s Champions League as well a 4th placed finish in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League Cote D’Ivoire.

He will be assisted by Northern Ladies coach Basiru-Deen Sumani, while former Asante Kotoko and Ghana goalkeeper Osei Boateng works as goalkeepers’ trainer.
