Jeremie Frimpong made a stunning debut for Liverpool, scoring his first goal for the Reds against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.
The Dutch international, who is of Ghanaian decent, joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen this summer and wasted no time making an impact.
In the 20th minute, Frimpong received a brilliant long-range pass from Dominik Szoboszlai, cut inside from the right flank, and chipped the ball over Dean Henderson into the far corner of the net, restoring Liverpool’s lead to 2-1 after Hugo Ekitike’s early goal and Jean-Philippe Mateta’s penalty equalizer.
Although Liverpool eventually lost the match 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, Frimpong’s goal showcased his skill and potential for the team.
