Ghana international midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp is set to leave Crystal Palace ahead of the 2025–26 season, bringing an end to his long-standing stint with the Premier League club.
The 32-year-old’s departure was officially confirmed by the club as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Schlupp joined the Eagles from Leicester City in January 2017 and went on to become a key figure at Selhurst Park, making 247 appearances across eight-and-a-half seasons.
Known for his pace, versatility, and work rate, the former Brentford loanee earned the trust of several Palace managers and became a fan favourite for his ability to adapt across multiple positions.
An excerpt from the club’s statement read: “An important and trusted member of the squad under numerous managers at Selhurst Park, the 32-year-old has made 247 appearances for the club since moving to South London from Leicester City in January 2017.”
Reflecting on his departure, Schlupp shared an emotional farewell message:
“
It’s been an incredible eight years playing for this club. I’ve met some great people – the Chairman, the gaffer, and all the staff – and it’s meant a lot to have played for Crystal Palace.”
You ask anybody about the Palace fans, and they know about the atmosphere they create. They’ve pulled us through so many difficult times. Hopefully, I’ve done you proud. I’ll definitely see you again soon.”
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish also paid tribute to Schlupp, saying:
“Across nine separate seasons with Crystal Palace, Jeffrey has made many an important contribution to the Football Club – and scored some incredible goals! Successful squads are built on players of Jeffrey’s calibre and character.“
Schlupp, who switched his international allegiance to Ghana in 2011, has earned 20 caps and scored once for the Black Stars.
His departure marks the end of an era for Palace as they look to rebuild with fresh talent heading into the next campaign.
