Midfielder James Garner has opened up on where he wants to be in the coming season with Manchester United after a loan stint with Nottingham Forest.
As quoted by 90Mins, Garner has said he has not yet given consideration to his immediate future, though admitted he admired Erik ten Hag’s Ajax sides and it’s an exciting time to be contracted to Man United.
“I’ve not spoken to [Ten Hag] yet. From the play-off final I’ve gone straight to being with England so I’ve had no rest and no break yet. It’s been football, football, football. I’ve not spoken to anyone at the club yet. It’s time for a rest now. I’m not too sure what the future holds,” he said.
“I’ve gone from the Championship play-off final to international football. I’ve not had a breather or time to think about what I want. I’d like to go on pre-season and impress. It’s down to me as a player to impress and make a mark. I know how good a style of football Ajax plays so it’s exciting.”
Garner played a huge role as Forest gained promotion to the top flight and there have been reports that the team wants him for another season with new United manager Erik ten Hag said to be keen on handing the youngster a chance in his team next season.
