Ghana head coach Otto Addo says he is fully focused on securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup rather than chasing personal achievements as the Black Stars prepare to face Comoros in their final qualifier.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Addo emphasized teamwork and execution as the keys to victory.
“I’m not thinking about records. It’s always about teamwork. Full focus to win and that is what I’m thinking about,” he said. “The last match the players did very well, and we are hoping to execute our plan in the Comoros game very well. That is the focus. We will do everything to secure the qualification on Sunday.”
Addo, who famously led Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup after a tense playoff against Nigeria, is now on the verge of achieving back-to-back qualifications with the national team.
The Black Stars enter Sunday’s game in high spirits following a commanding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in Morocco ; a result that lifted them to the top of Group I with 22 points, three ahead of Madagascar.
The decisive fixture will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12, 2025, where Ghana will look to seal their place at the World Cup for a fifth time.
