Sheriff Tiraspol defender Patrick Kpozo is “delighted” to have been named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The left-back was included in Otto Addo’s 55-man list which was released last week Friday.
He has been an regular player for FC Sheriff Tiraspol this season, making 21 appearances.
Speaking to Kickoffghana.com after earning his maiden call-up into the Black Stars he said, “I feel good when l heard the news that l have been included in the squad.”
“Of course I am on cloud nine right now for this special news in my life. It’s all joy to receive a call-up into the Black Stars that we have thousand and one players playing in the world.” he stated.
Coach Otto Addo will submit his final 26-man squad for the global tournament to FIFA by November 12.
Black Stars make a return to the tournament after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia and have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
