English-born Ghanaian midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo has described his England debut against Brazil in front of his family at the Wembley Stadium as a special feeling.

The 18-year-old midfielder was called upon by manager Gareth Southgate during the international friendly which ended 1-0 in favour of Brazil on Saturday.

Mainoo took to social media to express how much marking his debut in front of his family meant to him.

“Special feeling making my senior England debut at Wembley and in front of my family,” he wrote on Instagram.

“A moment I will never forget. Now we bounce back and refocus for Tuesday.”

The Man United man entered the field in the 75th minute, replacing Conor Gallagher, as England sought to break the deadlock in a tightly contested match.

Despite Mainoo’s introduction, the Three Lions ultimately fell short, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Brazil.

Nonetheless, Mainoo’s inclusion in the squad underscores his rapid rise in the footballing world.

Mainoo’s journey to the England squad has been swift, considering he only made his full Premier League debut against Everton in November 2023.
