Ghana captain Andre Ayew has revealed the motive behind the initiation of every new member of the Black Stars squad.

The latest debutants in the current squad served their colleagues with a hearty good laugh when they showed off their hilarious dancing skills in camp on Wednesday.

Tariq Lamptey (Brighton), Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Stephan Ambrosius (Karlsruher), Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer and Mohammed Salisu (Southampton) who are representing Ghana for the first time at an international level took their turn to entertain their team mates.

The initiation which is a team building exercise to forge a bond among the players is an annual ritual to formally welcome new players to the team.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Brazil, Andre Ayew stressed the importance of keeping the tradition going .

“Unity comes with time and result but when we look at other ways, it’s a great way to bring people together all in one room, laugh and joke and talk about different things because there is more than enough stress for every game. But you can have some time to enjoy.”

“It’s been there before I even came to the team. It’s not going to change. It’s a great moment of joy and of bringing each other together — it’s like a tradition and we don’t change those kind of things and I think the guys came in and did their part well.”
Ghana will face the five time World Champions on Friday, September 23 in Le Havre, before taking on Nicaragua in Spain four days later.
