Former Ghana international Charles Taylor says winning the CAF Champions League by a Ghanaian club will take 20-50 years.
He believes the rampant sale of players by domestic clubs makes it almost impossible to assemble a formidable team capable of securing glory in Africa.
Hearts are the last team to clinch the competition after beating Esperance of Tunisia 3-1 in the year 2000.
“It will take 20 or 50 years to win the [CAF] Champions League,” he stressed.
“God will not be fair if a Ghanaian club wins it. Even look at how keep on selling the players from the Ghana Premier League to other clubs.
“And this attitude didn’t speak well of our league” Taylor told Onua FM.
Currently, Medeama SC and Dreams FC are the two Ghanaian sides vying for honours in the continental club competitions.
